Overview:
Scalping
Screen's musical influences came from heavy metal
and hardcore punk. The band also has soaked up influences
that aren't entirely musical, but make up an important
part of what it means to be Scalping Screen. You can
hear pure metallic rage the songs, but there is also
an unbridled fury that comes from hardcore. If you
are into old school, new school or whatever school
and like metal, you'll like Scalping Screen. Mika
brings his own perspective to the songs by writing
lyrics that are close to his own experience, but also
a wider perspective with his point of view on racism,
violence and hypocrites. The new album, titled "Blood
Out...", keeps to the in-your-face beatdown attitude
as "13 Revolting Strains", where Jani tears up shit
with his brutal riffs to Heikki's drums, which are
consequently beat to a pulp, Mika's aggressive vocal
delivery teams up with Pekka's violent bass-work to
combine in another 33 minutes of thorough grinding
thrashy metal and hardcore.
