Overview:
First
of all, I want to emphasize that the recording is
top notch. It's major record label quality!
Reason for my justice is MyProof's statement that
they are truly a force to reckon with in the claustrophobic
melodic metalcore genre. What set them apart from
the pack is that they are taking it from a very different
direction. Others have stuck themselves ripping off
At The Gates and In Flames riffs all the time while
MyProof have embraced the classic 80's heavy metal
sounds and have injected it with Japanese anime and
computer game sounds (Macross in particular), Asian
pop, ballad style singing, and just the right amount
of heavy hardcore breakdown. Giving their sounds variety
which most of their contemporaries lack. If their
Shining Stardust CD has impressed you, this one will
floored you down and leaves you wanting for more.
In fact it is so infectious that I have played my
advance copy five times in succession the first time
it hit my player.
The recording really complements their sound. It clearly
displays the individual member's talent. Their song
writing had drastically matured since the last time.
With this, they have put more amounts of ballad style
singing (but not too much) and heavy hardcore breakdown
to their already impressive finger breaking riffs.
The dual guitar harmonies and solos are much more
impressive now and are still the same nod to 80's
heavy metal just like with those of Iron Maiden and
Judas Priest. The drum works sound natural this time
and really added to the diversity of this masterpiece.
The vocalist's snarls are much more vicious now and
this time he have proven that he can actually sing.
I can't get enough of this. If they were from the
US or Europe, they will be surely really big by now.
MyProof will give bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch
Engage, As I Lay Dying nightmares and a run for their
money.
