::Biography::
Morda was born in the H8000 area (Bruges, Belgium),
the same place that spawned bands that made Belgium
as the hotbed of hardcore/metalcore during the mid
90's to early 2000's. The band's trademark melody,
metal, mosh and pure hardcore clearly indicated that
they are actually from that area. Their previous album
"Eighty-Six" (2003) have cemented a firm foundation
for their name and have proven that they can bring
back the glory days of the H8000 scene. The legendary
Pro-Pain and All Out War have asked the band to support
them on their respective 2003 European tours. Since
then, the band's email address had been attacked by
kids who are very eager to see them live and have
their hands on the band's CD/merch.
In 2005, Morda released their most anticipated released
to date, Azerion. The band have dedicated so much
time, blood and sweat to ensure that this release
will have diverse and well thought-out song structures.
The result was tons of melody that's been inspired
by In Flames and merged together with brutal Belgian
metalcore from the likes of Liar, Congress and Arkangel;
overwhelming walls of guitar and intense breaks from
German bands like Heaven Shall Burn and (old) Caliban;
and some technical input and great twists from killer
US bands like Unearth or As I Lay Dying. The lyrics
are insightful and deal with our daily life and all
its aspects which we all have to endure. To add up
more spice to the album, they asked Marcus (Heaven
Shall Burn) to lay down some guest vocals. All these
brilliance and destruction have been meticulously
recorded at CCR Studio (Liar, Arkangel, Congress).
It's not surprising that this album received rave
reviews and have categorized Morda as in league with
such highly acclaimed bands like Heaven Shall Burn,
Arkangel, Liar, Caliban (old), and As I Lay Dying.
June 29, 2005 was a memorable date for the band as
it is the day of the release party of Azerion, some
1,200 kids have gathered and witnessed the band's
extra ordinary live performance, an all out insanity
prevailed! It also embarked the beginning of Morda's
headlining Euro tour (throughout Belgium, France,
Germany, Spain, Italy, and Austria). Within the first
month of its release over 1,500 CD's have been already
sold (a feat for an independent hardcore label), and
the number's still increasing. On November 2005 they
have set a second European tour in support for their
CD. They have also co-headlined again Pro-Pain's 2005
Euro tour. All of these hard works have increased
Morda's popularity even further.
They have been part of the annual Vort N' Vis Fest
(biggest hardcore festival in Belgium) since 2001
onwards. Their eagerness to play every possible shows
have made them shared stages with such notables acts
like Madball, Caliban, Walls of Jericho, 100 Demons,
Heaven Shall Burn, Terror, etc.
The overwhelming positive responses have caught up
the attention of Hong Kong based Metal/Hardcore/Screamo
record label, Gods Child Music. The label had agreed
to help Morda conquer other territories, and in doing
so they will be re-releasing Azerion this coming July
10, 2006 with bonus materials. They are also set to
bring mayhem and insanity in Japan this coming August
with their Japanese label mates, Community Trust.
